SO 16.04 to SO 2.3

Hi All,

Not sure if this is a stupid question but what would happen if i upgraded my master sensor to 2.3 but then left my other 6 heavy node sensors running 16.04 while i upgrade them one by one? The issue im having is that these heavy nodes are based around the world so i dont have physical access only ssh and dont want something going wrong then being stuck without visibility.

Would it still work, so the sensors still sent the data to the master or would i just lose all of the old config so have to setup the entire network again?

I would be grateful for any advice that you,

Security Onion 16.04 and 2.3 are totally different architectures, so 16.04 nodes do not connect to 2.3 managers.
