I have done a clean install of SO using the latest ISO, 16.04.4.3, and updated before running the setup.
When attempting to login to Kibana it fails without an error and returns to the original login page, or with Squil, it is unable to connect.
Running 'so-user-add' does not allow a new user access either.
When running 'so-user-list', the following error is generated:
mysql: [ERROR] Could not open required defaults file: /etc/mysql/debian.cnf
mysql: [ERROR] Fatal error in defaults handling. Program aborted!
There is no 'debian.cnf' file.
I guess this may be related to the July 31 blog post?
Thanks.
Thanks,

I did try the workaround, but no success. I did not try too hard though as my priority was testing new hardware, so reverted to older SO ISO.
Tested the new ISO, 16.04.5.1, on two different types of hardware and everything worked as expected.
Thanks for the help.
