I've edited my own files to my liking and I think many new users may appreciate some of the edits I've made.
I also realize that the SO team offers paid training for this stuff, but it would be great if there was a detailed video explaining the Squert interface, options, terms, etc. The creator's video is old and lacking a lot of explanation. New users have to fumble around and do a lot of blog searching until they figure out how the tool works. A detailed introduction video would be great. I could just create one but a training video really should come from someone who knows all about the thing they're describing.
So, who's maintaining Squert now?
Kris,

The Security Onion team will continue to maintain its own fork of Squert.
If you like, you can submit pull requests via Github, as they are always welcome:
Thanks,
Wes

Attached is a screenshot of the mods I've made in my own system. They're basic but very useful. Squert is a very powerful interface tool and I think that mostly it just needs to be looked at with new users in mind. There needs to be better rollover descriptions and some specific notes inserted in certain areas to alleviate frustration in using the tool.
I've also put an auto page refresh in my index file to refresh every 5 minutes. This allows me to leave it open on one of my screens and glance at it from time to time, knowing that it's current.
The only modified files are
index.php
squert.css
cal.css
squertFunctions.js
squertCal.js
My question for Doug or Wes is will my modified files be changed if I run 'soup'?
