Hello,
I have a problem with installation on the Hyper-V (W2012). Installer is crashing (ubiquity is mentioned). I checked checksum and it's ok. I'm trying to install securityonion-14.04.4.2. Any idea?

Thank you!

Devlin,

Have you tried installing with a fresh copy of the ISO (14.04.4.2), or do you have a 14.04.4.1 copy you can test from to see if you experience the same behavior?

Thanks,
Wes

Hi,
sorry for the late answer.. I tried 14.04.4.1 with the same result. Both versions suffer with the same error in my hyper-v environment :(

Hi Devlin,

Have you tried normal Ubuntu 14.04?

Hi Doug,
I tried "ubuntu-14.04.4-desktop-amd64" and I had no problem with installation...

Hi Devlin,

I'm not sure what the difference would be as we use the standard
Ubuntu installer. However, since Ubuntu installs correctly, you can
simply use that Ubuntu installation and add our PPA and packages:

Hi Doug,
thank you! That's a good workaround. I have SO already deployed :) Thank you. I had no idea, that it could be done this way...
