Hi everyone, I'm trying to send emails from Snorby clicking "Event Export Option -> E-mail Event" in event appeared menu, but no message sent...I read http://code.google.com/p/security-onion/wiki/Email but I don't know why I have to use an external smtp server, given that my net have its own smtp server (so an MX record in DNS)?

Hi Joshua,

I'm not sure that I fully understand your question. You can configure
Snorby and/or the Xubuntu OS itself to relay through the existing SMTP
server on your network.

Hope that helps!

Thanks,
Doug
