not clear.. How can they cross check it with all the temples, and what
would be the punishments for not complying?

Well, these are either distorted news items or WJM has gone bonkers. Most of these nonsense about "religious compliance" are unimplementable it is a waste of time of everybody in discussing these. However, the fact that ministers spend their time issuing these nonsensical statements is a matter that we need to discuss ........

i tried to verify this news. appears gossip9.com is the only source,
and more important, their link doesn't exist anymore. So,
unfortunately, it's impossible to confirm if this news is true. please
enlighten us as you get further information. thanks.

perfectly agreed with Prasad. Since I'm relatively free from work
these days, I tried to verify this news and its source. All points
towards gossip9.com, and an English website called SriLankaMirror (one
being a direct translation from another, dunno which is which).
However, I must admit i was just SHOCKED upon seeing the news. I mean,
if it were true, and were implemented in a wayward way, isnt it
anything short of a Fatwa? Btw non-implement-ability of this move/
suggestion is the only relief. There are enormous number of trade
unions, workers rights activists etc etc whose senses must be touched
in such an issue (not that i'm entirely happy about such unions).
However, as Prasad said, chances are that it's utter nonsense or
distorted news and nothing much to worry about. (hope you can remember
the news on miniskirt ban last January and the chaos it created).
