The LIveCode folks missed their scheduled release date by about 9 hours, but this morning's email brought the good news: the Kickstarter-funded Live Code Community Edition is now available. Download it and use it for free. You can even use it to build products that you sell, provided you are willing to make the source code publicly available.You only need to ever buy a commercial license if you wish to sell a closed-source application.

If you've ever thought you'd like to try to learn to program, I highly recommend downloading LiveCode and giving it a test-drive. Their website has a large number of lessons and tutorials available, or stop in at Sector67 on a 2nd or 4th Tuesday night (7pm) for one of my Arduino + LiveCode nights…
