Any suggestions for a replacement cap to hold air in an REI "Relax Queen Air Bed"? REI doesn't have any parts - the mattress is at least 7 years old. The plastic plumbing caps at Ace Hardware on Willy St. have the wrong thread pitch, even though a 3/4 inch diameter cap was roughly the same size as the threaded hole.

I searched the web (Ebay, etc.) without any luck.

A 1" twist-turn drain plug at Ace worked, but having a brass piece extending above the mattress seems less than ideal.

Here's a link to e photos, including the drain plug:

As always, thanks for any help.

Have you tried one of the generic ones online?

Do you remember if it had an o-ring/face seal?  It's unclear from your picture if the front of the bung is flat/grooved/where the seal is being made.

Thanks, Chris. The generic ones online turned out to be a bit too small at a diameter of 22mm. About 24mm might be the right diameter? The bung hole in the mattress has a flat seal, and the threads start immediately below that.

I never saw the original cap - the mattress was given to a child by a grandparent. The donor didn't know that the cap was missing.

I hate to discard an otherwise useable mattress, so maybe I'll make a removeable cover for the twist-type drain plug to prevent the brass handle from poking the person sleeping. Or, buy a drain plug with a handle that snaps, rather than twists:

As always, I appreciate the suggestions.
