Greetings Sectorites,

I ordered a bunch of 3D printed tools for machine knitting and am looking for advice on making them usable. Each of the prongs/tines on these pieces is meant to hold, and then release, knitted stitches. The problem is that there are large swaths where the lines of filament did not adhere, and they get stuck on the yarn.

My question: is there something I can safely paint onto these areas to help fill in and create a smoother surface?

My CraftCloud order history tells me that the material is PETG (FDM), and the finish is standard (60% infill).

Perhaps I would have received a better result if I had opted for 95% infill. But for now I'm stuck with a dozen like this

I appreciate all suggestions and cautions.

Also always eager to hire a Sector member to make prints for me . . .

Thanks for looking!

Tanya

That part really shouldn't have been sent out in that poor of quality :-/ (eg you should get your money refunded).   Looks like they printed it on a full raft which is a pretty rare strategy anymore.

Do you have the design file? We could print a much better one at the shop if you'd like
