Hello S67!

This is Tim over in the MKE by the lake, and I would like to invite anyone who is interested in learning and tech to roll on over to Bucketworks on OCT 6-7, 2012. That is when BarCampMKE 7 will be happening!

Featuring indoor camping available, Mexican food, live graffiti, Artemis (http://tinyurl.com/9hxlp5c), and lots more. The proposed session list is here (https://barcampmilwaukee.org/session-list), and please add to it if you would like to present or learn something in particular.

Any questions or comments can be directed to this email address, otherwise I hope to see you in Milwaukee the first weekend of OCT.

Thanks,

t

Last year, this was the best tech conference I attended hands-down.
The overnight camping *in* the building was just amazing! after the
normal-ish conference (as normal as barcamp can be) there was an
amazing late night sessions that were much more offbeat. and slightly
drunken.

It is undoubtedly worth the trip from madison, and hopefully the guys
from the twin cities and chicago will make it up too. it was the best
hackerspace-represented barcamp for sure.

We also just added 5,000 SQ FT that we are trying to re-imagine (ideas are welcome!!), so there is PLENTY of space to spread out and explore---as far as I know, the only thing in the new space is the mead brewing operation.

We have also been pinging the upper Midwest spaces, but please help spread the word!!

We did 3D printing last year from about 10pm to 5am... printing non-stop. It was insane.

Here's a video: http://blip.tv/rasterweb-audiovisual/makerbot-madness-5691781

And since the Power Racing Series is over (well, for some of us it's over) we in Milwaukee challenge our hacker/maker friends from Madison to take part in our own Nerdy Derby:

  https://barcampmilwaukee.org/session/nerdy-derby-race

The race is being planned for Saturday night, still nailing down the time, but it should be good. Last night during testing at Milwaukee Makerspace one member's car crashed into a wall and burst into flames. Yeah... it'll be interesting.
