We are excited to announce the upcoming online course “Design, implement and promote species monitoring in R,” taking place from 14–16 October 2025.
This course covers the theory and practice of long-term species monitoring protocols, including Census, Capture-Mark-Recapture, distance sampling, site occupancy, and N-mixture models. Through lectures and hands-on R sessions, you will learn to develop monitoring protocols and analyze real-world data.
Who should attend?
Students, researchers, practitioners, and NGO workers interested in building robust, reproducible monitoring workflows. Basic familiarity with R is desirable but not mandatory—annotated scripts will be provided.
Course schedule:
Daily live sessions from 09:00 to 12:30 (Berlin time), with additional self-guided practical exercises.
