Commercial VO, Part 2
On radio and television, sell products and services for fun and profit.
Continuing on work done in the first of these two classes, diving deeper into the types of commercial reads, the categories of products, the pacing and rhythms of copy, and the benefits advertisers desperately need to communicate to the viewers and listeners of their message, the goal is perfecting your approach to this primary VO category.
What skills you’ll get:
In this Secrets of VO class, David H. Lawrence XVII teaches you, step-by-step, how to voice commercial copy, how to create memorable auditions and find commercial work. Secrets revealed:
- using pace and pitch to compact verbose copy
- creating intimate, lovely beauty reads for luxury products
- sticking it: dismounting from a spot and making it memorable
- defending the clients’ brand with consistent pace, rhythm and performance
- and more
Copy provided? You bet.
In this class, all students, Auditors and Participants alike, will be provided with lecture notes and commercial VO copy. Participants will be directed and recorded; Auditors will observe that process. The recordings will be given to each Participant to use as mini-starter demos (in advance of completed professional demos), showing their mastery of the particular category of voicework performed.
