Hi everyone,

We're in the process of arranging Selenium Conf 2012. It'll be in London this year from the 16-18th April. There have been announcements on twitter and the selenium blog, but I realize that nothing has been sent to these lists. This will be the only time I mail the user groups directly about the conference. If you're interested in following what's happening, please join the "seconf" google group:

As someone who's part of the selenium community, we'd love to hear how you're using Selenium; the triumphs you've had, and the problems you've encountered. If you'd like to share your experiences, tips and tricks with an engaged audience, now's your chance! There are slots available for long form presentations, lightning talks and even half-day workshops! If you miss the deadline, feel free to send me an email and I'll try and add you to the list of topics.

On a personal note, I'd love to know who'd you'd want to hear keynote. Would you like the core committers to keynote again? Someone else entirely? If you've got any suggestions, please let us know!

Regards,

Simon

I have a few questions.

1) I have submitted workshop proposal. In case it gets rejected, would I get a chance to submit another proposal? Or should I submit all ideas that I have right now?

2) I could not find any information on benefits for speakers. Do they get free or cheaper conference tickets?

By the way, looks like images are missing at the old site (http://2011.seleniumconf.org/speakers/):

Hi,

In answer to your question:

1) The committee will be selecting the talks in one go. If you've got a range of subjects you'd like to talk about, please submit all the ideas you have right now. If there's something that you're really passionate about, feel free to let us know in the additional comments section.

2) It seems a trifle unfair to ask speakers to pay to attend the conference they're helping make better: all speakers will get a free ticket to the conference. There will also be a speakers' dinner that all speakers will be invited to. Not only a free ticket, but also a free meal :)

We're also planning a conference party, which all attendees will be invited to. This won't be on the same night as the speakers' dinner.

Thanks for the heads-up about the images!

Thanks, will do.

I thought that would be the case, but I wanted to make sure. (Working as a tester makes you like that.)

One wishes he had some funds to attend this in another country. Best of luck with the conference. :) I'm happy to do what I can here.
