I gave "How MediaWiki, software that runs Wikipedia, is tested"[1][2] talk this year at Selenium conference. A few people said after the talk that they would like to help us. My talk was in the afternoon of the last day of the conference so there was not a lot of time for people to talk with me after the talk. If you are one of those people (or if helping us test open source software that Wikipedia uses sounds interesting), the best way to get started is to join our QA[3] list and introduce yourself.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me off list.
