Cross-posted this one time to selenium-developers

Hi everyone,

It's time to start organising the next Selenium Conf. The discussions
on the list so far have dithered a little, so I'm deciding it'll be in
London this year.

Last year we had a "work horse" committee and a wider one for picking
submissions. That seemed to work well, let's do it again.

So, who wants to be on the work horse committee? I suggest UK (or, at
least, Europe-based) souls are best placed for this, but I'd be happy
for anyone to step forward if they want to lend a hand doing the grunt
work. If you're going to help with sponsors, you could be on the moon
for all I care :) Once we're ready to put out the call for papers,
we'll form the larger group. Sound good?

Cheers,

Simon

I am more than willing to help out. I don't live in London but being on the south coast I can easily travel up when need be.

It's Labor Day here in the States -- a day off from work. Most Americans interested in this probably won't see it or reply until tomorrow. :-) Oh, and yeah London!

It'd be good to have some Watir folk involved.
There's a few of us in Europe: Jari in Norway,  Tolf (Opera) also in Norway, Zeljko Filipin in Croatia, and Jarmo Pertman in Estonia.

It's one of the reasons why I posted on the seconf list: I know that
there are Watir folks here.

I'm happy to handle/manage sponsorship with Bradley (if he's up for getting involved again this year). I can set up the eventbrite page when we're ready to sell tickets and help with updating the seconf website copy. Should we just copy over the website we had for seconf 2011 and make a new URL for seconf2012? Also, I can answer any questions or help advise on whatever needs to get done!

When we establish a workhorse committee, I'd suggest different folks take owernership of various tasks. Having a spreadsheet for upcoming tasks helped tremendously with staying on track. For reference, here is the one I used last year. If that looks good to people, we can keep with this template: http://bit.ly/n6vK66

Also, it would be good to establish a different mailing list for the workhorse committee so we don't bother everyone with logistics.

Hi all!

I'm in the US (Boulder, CO area), but I'm happy to help with grunt
work.

Hello everyone,

I am a Selenium user and I've been lurking on the selenium-developers
list for awhile, which is how I came across this note. While I
haven't made any contributions to core, I have built Selenium-RC
bindings for CFML (ColdFusion) which have been well received by the
community, and do hope to contribute to core in the future.

I am replying to this note as I hope to attend SeConf this year, and I
have some experience with organizing conferences. I was the content
chair for a developer conference last year (http://
www.cfobjective.com) which had around 300 attendees, and I also sat on
the steering committee. I would be more than happy to volunteer to
help out with SeConf in any way that I can. I am located in Canada,
but if there is any way that I can help, in any capacity, please let
me know.

Cheers,
Bob

I thought the consensus after this year's event was to combine into one conference, with different tracks, including a watir themed one?
Am I completely misunderstood?
Charley Baker was on the SeConf organizing committee this year.
