Description
A group of neighbors in Nashville, TN, who meet every second Sunday of the month to discuss own own organic food gardens and landscaping efforts that support the natural world through landscaping with native plants. We often bring in expert speakers at our meetings, and participate in neighborhood events such as Weed Wrangle, Tree Day, and garden tours. SSG volunteers have created and managed numerous areas at Portland Park including the Pollinator Patch, the Urban Herb Share, the Food Forest and the Soft Landing under the Shingle Oak. Our regenerative landscaping efforts focus on the removal invasive species and adding native trees, shrubs, plants and vines to support our pollinators and work with nature rather than to subdue it.
