World of SL

So what's up with Tao Takashi nowadays? My previous blog host decided
it wanted to charge for MYSQL so I migrated over to Wordpress.com.
It's been a month and I've emailed Tao and sent him IMs in world and
he has yet to update my feed at World of SL. Needless to say my
traffic has dwindled to nearly zero :(

[Crap Mariner]

My title in there is still "Crap In The Morning" - my old streamed
radio show. It ought to be "What is this Crap?" and I've written
before, but as long as the feed works and nobody's lost a finger, I'm
cool with it.

Keeping a popular resource like that maintained can't be easy. An even
if it's easy to do through tools, there's got to be lots of requests
piling up... I know I get like that with the Carnival Of The Cats
project.

One thing about World Of SL that bugs me: The large amount of BlogHUD
posts in World Of SL are just noise to me.

I suppose this sounds elitist, but is someone who uses BlogHUD to post
snapshots without context really a blogger, or are they just a
photoblogger?

Is BlogHUD the SL equivalent of BlogSpot or Flickr?

I guess being an oldtimey warblogger and catblogger, I still have
memories of the "Is X really a blog?" arguments among the so-called A-
list.

BlogHUD is somewhere in between a blog, twitter, and SnapZilla. I
like it because it has a photo, and a SLURL, and it can link to other
blogs in a blog stream, which SnapZilla does not do. I use it sort of
as a snapshot album of things to remember and where I've been.

I feel the Bloghud stream is abused quite a bit too. Lots of "My First
Post", picture-less post, text-less post and painted up death dolls
for my taste. Dedric Mauriac probably is the only one who really uses
Bloghud to its fullest and best use.
