Sent to NA Chair:
While I was on-line, I noticed that the Canby Herald has a link to the
two letters that were sent to the City Council regarding our city’s
management. I was wondering why this information wasn’t posted on the
SECNA boards. I think this is the type of information I personally
would like to be seen and sent to our neighborhood association
constituents (not sure that’s the right word) so that they have the
opportunity to voice their opinions in how our city is ran, if they so
choose.

I really think our NA can provide that link between the city and its
citizens. I had NO idea that a letter was being served to the City
Council from citizens. I would have loved to have had that opportunity
to voice my concerns. I know that some may think it is political, but
it’s our city and our right to speak up and having the neighborhood
association share this information I feel would be beneficial…Even if
its just to make us aware of what is happening and then it is up to us
as a citizen to do with what we will with that information.

I just believe we have this avenue to share information and we should
utilize it.

Here’s the link I’m referring to…

(Please note that anyone subscribed to this group can post to the
group and start discussions I found out about the letters almost a
week after the Council Meeting. Nick)

This is the type of purpose for which NA's exist. Not just issues within
our NA area.

Would we want to get a letter to City Council from SECNA, or offer SECNA members the opportunity to add their names to the letter signed by 96 "Concerned Citizens" in north Canby. My understanding is that City Council is still considering whether it is time to replace the City Manager so it may not be too late to add our voice. I am referring to the second letter at this link: http://www.canbyherald.com/CANNews3.shtml

Personally I would add my name as one of the "Concerned Citizens".  As a member of the SECNA please let us know your opinion.

I would also add my name to the letter Susan is referring to. How do we find out how to do this?

Susan, Please would you draft something for the officers to review and
approve or see if you can get a copy of the concerned citizens letter
and then we can provide access for members to sign if they want.
Thanks, Nick

I'd be interested in seeing the letter. Sounds good.
