Unique Identifier for Algorithms – Revision in Penalty

NSE had, vide circular no. NSE/SURV/39958 dated January 15, 2019 advised Member to adhere to the its Circulars no. NSE/CMTR/21793 dated September 28, 2012 specifying that “All Algorithmic orders emanating from the system to be tagged with the unique identifier as specified by Exchange from time to time, circular no. NSE/CMTR/16519 dated Dec 14, 2010 regarding Identification of order through NNF terminal and Circular No. NSE/MSD/37635 dated April 26, 2018 regarding Unique Identifier for Algorithms provides for identification and population of Algo ids and ensure that all Algorithmic orders are tagged with the unique identifier allocated by the Exchange

 

Vide the said circular dated January 15, 2019 NSE had also informed that In case of any deviation from the above circulars, appropriate action shall be initiated which includes penalty of Rs. 10,000/- per day and that this penal provision shall be effective from February 15, 2019

 

Now, vide its Circular no. NSE/SURV/50154 dated October 29, 2021, NSE has revised the above penal provision as follows, with effect from December 1, 2021

 

 

Existing Penalty

Revised Penalty

Rs.10,000/- per day

Rs.10,000/- per day for up to 5 instances

Post 5 instances, Rs.50,000/- per day
