Circular dated July-2-2025
- Purpose:
To strengthen cybersecurity, data protection, and IT infrastructure among
SEBI-regulated entities (REs), SEBI had introduced the CSCRF on August 20,
2024.
- Extension of Timelines:
Based on multiple requests, SEBI has extended the compliance
deadline by 2 months, i.e., till August 31, 2025 for
all REs except the following:
- Market Infrastructure
Institutions (MIIs)
- KYC Registration Agencies
(KRAs)
- Qualified Registrars to an
Issue and Share Transfer Agents (QRTAs)
(These entities must comply within original timelines.)
- Responsibility of Market Infrastructure
Institutions (like Stock Exchanges/Depositories):
- Inform members/participants
about the circular.
- Publish the circular on
their respective websites.
- Effective Date:
The circular is effective immediately.
- Legal Basis:
Issued under Section 11(1) of the SEBI Act, 1992, aimed at investor
protection and market regulation.
- Availability:
The circular is published on SEBI’s website under the “Legal” →
“Circulars” section.
