I started raising fund to aid in immediate relief work and rebuilding (shelters and schools) since the two massive earthquake hit my country in April and May 2015 with more than 200 aftershocks causing more than 9000 deaths and massive loss of property. We with my friends and family (based in UK) formed a community group called ISahara Nepal to help in relief efforts and rebuilding in Nepal. ISahara Nepal is named in the loving memory of our sister, Ishara, who lost her life aged 39, when her 3 storey house collapsed during the earthquake.Although its a drop in a ocean we manage to complete relief operation by sending more than 40 000 pound worth of donated medical and non medical relief items to Nepal. My thanks to Mrs Caron Sharpe of physiotherapy department of William Harvey hospital for providing some of the much needed crutches. Moreover, we have managed to build 10 temporary shelters for the earthquake victims and played a defining role to build more than 100 temporary shelters with the help of my colleagues from my old medical school working in US and UK. Please do visit our Facebook page for further details: https://www.facebook.com/ISaharaNepal?fref=ts.Now we are now concentrating in rebuilding school in Nepal. Myself and my wife, Dr. Parul Shrestha (Rheumatology trainee at Kings College Hospital) have been collecting funds for the same purpose. Please do visit http://www.gofundme.com/v2t32bk and donate as much as you can. Our aim is to build a temporary School in Chetradeurali , Dhading where a credible local NGO, Wildlife Conservation Nepal are helping building schools and hence the all the proceeds will go to WCN for the same. If we get good support, we aim to sponsor children for their education as well as other rebuilding efforts.Massive thanks to Dr David Thaxter, Dr Neil Durrant, Dr Sara Timms and their colleagues (foundation year doctors) at William Harvey Hospital for organising a charity gig on 28th May at the Blacksmith's Arms pub in Kent to support our goal to help rebuild a school in Nepal. That's £233.30 pounds handed over to our team which will go towards rebuilding the school. We are also screening a English movie based in Nepal 'Highway to Dhampus' on 18th of July 2015 in London in association with Fifty Films and Mind the Gap.
