Also having this issue. Have been using the same method to save my illustrator files to PDF's since 2012 and never had this issue. Use this method everyday for my design shop to create cards. Worked on Friday and tried tonight and keep getting this. Have tried opening a new doc and saving there. Closing the application all together, shutting down and restarting my computer, etc etc etc. Nothing is working.
Yes, it is version 24.0.1 2020. Not entirely sure how to reset the preferences, but I'll try that. I do see that when you create a new AI document, I already have that box checked for the PDF to be compatible.
I'm having the same problem now. I'm using Mac OS 10.15.3, Adobe Illustrator 2020. The layouts are all purely typographic, there are no linked or embeded images. The text are intact. And when I use the "Save As a Copy" function, I get the error in Acrobat Reader. I'm a heavy Illustrator user. I don't understand what is causing the problem.
Sorry to hear about the trouble. Could you please confirm if you have already tried resetting the preferences? If yes, I would request if you can confirm if this is happening on a specific file or on multiple files?

Finally, the iTunes App Store provides mobile tutorial apps for the creative mind on the go.
A limited number of no-cost Adobe Creative Cloud licenses are available for instructional faculty and instructional staff. Requests will be approved for individuals whose work for the University includes one of the following activities:
Adobe Illustrator is a popular tool for designing vector graphics, logos, icons, and more. I personally love using Adobe Illustrator to make personalized images for my small business and my website, such as favicons and logos for social media.
Whether you're a small business owner, a web or graphic designer, or just an illustrator enthusiast, check out this list of Adobe Illustrator alternatives that let you produce beautiful designs on a budget.
HubSpot offers a variety of design tools. The first is the Free Logo Maker. Our logo maker can assist you in designing and customizing the ideal logo for your brand, offering a wide range of professionally designed templates that eliminate the need to start from scratch.

One of the most comparable substitutes to Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape has plenty of similar sketching, illustrating, and editing tools, including keys to move and rotate by screen pixels, bitmap tracing, color painting over objects, and edit gradients with handles.
In my opinion, Inkscape is a great product for pro- or semi-pro web designers working within SVG file format. It also offers an open-source vector graphics package, so if you have the technical skills, you can incorporate Inkscape into your other software programs.
I appreciate that GIMP provides options for customization and third-party plugins. This makes this tool a great option if your image editing needs are somewhat unique and you want a lot of customization.
Pixlr X includes regularly updated templates for social media, presentations, resumes, business cards, newsletters, and event invitations. Pixlr E includes a photo collage maker that combines your favorite photos into a clean, cohesive design.
The intuitive user interface gives you a clean workspace so you can complete your workflow without clutter or overlapping toolboxes. Keyboard shortcuts keep tools accessible without switching between tabs or searching through several icons.
I found plenty of basic vector-editing tools in Corel Vector, including pen, line, knife, slice, bezigon, and gradient editor. I love that Corel Vector also has more advanced features, such as boolean operations, symbols, international text support, and more.
Cost: The price of a universal license is $99.99, but you can also purchase much cheaper individual licenses for MacOS, Windows, and iPad. The 30-day trial version is free and offers plenty of the full version tools.
I found VectorStyler to be an advanced illustration software for a fraction of the cost of Adobe. VectorStyler has all the drawing tools I need to create stunning illustrations and designs, including vector brushes, shape effects, advanced typography, path sketching, text on path, open native AI, and more.
Constantly freezing while trying to use various features, such as selecting multiple layers or toggling layer view. This has happened on multiple projects today and yesterday. The app sometimes crashes while this happens, other times I have to force it to close and lose my unsaved work.
When using Apple Pen to use pen tool and start making something the app instantly crashes. Any tool will not work. The app is smooth and easy in the menu and it functions normally it just will not tolerate creating anything
I worked on a new files for 2 hours throughout the day yesterday. Just before bed, I locked my iPad and set it down. When I opened the app this morning, there were strange green lines across the canvas. I force quit the app. When I reopened, the illustration had been reset to a far earlier state, losing 90% of the work I did yesterday.
Steps:
- Select Calligraphy Brush
- Draw line with brush
- Deselect (use a different tool, work on a different layer etc)
- Go back and select Calligraphy brush and adjust stroke width = ALL previously created brush strokes will now change to the newly selected stroke size
Before I upgraded to IpadOS 17, I still can use adobe illustrator on my iPad with IpadOS 16/16.5. After I updated to IpadOS 17, I couldn't even launch the app. It just popped out and went back to my home screen. I'm not using any app before it since I restarted my Ipad before launching Illustrator and I tried uninstalling the app, restarting my Ipad and even tried going into Illustrator with adobe creative cloud, but it's still the same way. BTW, I'm using Ipad Pro 4th generation, software version is IpadOS 17 as I said above, and seems like Adobe Illustrator is also up to date since it didn't ask me for updates these days.
There seems to be a default 'snapping' that is hard-coded. With all snapping and guides turned off under "precision" I still cannot move an object with as much fluid precision as I can on the desktop version w/o snapping turned on.
