Planning for the 17th Vintage Computer Festival Midwest is in full swing.  

What do we have for you today?

How about starting with the basics?

Alright! VCF Midwest 17 will be held September 10-11 (the usual weekend) at Waterford Banquets in Elmhurst, IL (the usual place, at least since 2019).  Judging from last year's unprecedented enthusiasm, the daily mailing list sign-ups and all the early table requests we've been getting, it's going to be the biggest, busiest VCFMW ever!

How about a hotel room?

Coming from out of town?  Or maybe you live three minutes away but classic computing FOMO is taking hold?  Foreshadowing the size of this year's crowd, the room block at the Clarion Inn is close to sold out!  No, you didn't miss an announcement - eager VCFers have been calling the hotel for weeks, asking about rooms for the show.  And hotel sales did their job and sold them rooms!  We are in the process of arranging room blocks at two nearby hotels for overflow crowds, and details will be posted on our hotels page when we have them (soon!)

It may be worth checking with the Clarion Inn for cancellations and stand-by by calling the hotel directly at (630) 279-0700 rather than the main Choice Hotels line, who won't know what a VCFMW is.

Planning to get a table at our show?  Don't forget that setup is all day on Friday, so arriving on Thursday night sets you up for the smoothest possible load-in.  Can't make it that early?  No problem, the doors will be open well into Friday night.

Yeah, about those tables...

We're working on it!  Remember last year's crowd?  We weren't sure what to expect given the local restrictions placed on our venue.  We prepared for the worst and were still blown away by the highest attendance show yet.  This year?  We're probably looking at buffer overflow conditions.  We've got to redraw (ahem, "optimize") our table map before we're ready to start taking bookings.  When we're ready to open the gates, this list is where you'll hear about it first.
