Hi all,

Found this "new" book about the Heathkit H8 computer. Publication date was January 2013. Is this for real?

The description reads like its just a collection of stuff cut and pasted from Wikipedia. Strange.

Yep, just a collection of wikipedia articles. I recognize the text which I added to the H89 wiki entry. So for 90 pages, and $20-25 to print it on demand from the two local bookstores. I wonder how much these "authors" are getting from that. At least it mentions wikipedia, hopefully people will know better than to buy it.

This is another one of those banes of the Internet. Wikipedia allows more or less unrestricted re-use of its content, so some "enterprising" individuals repackage it as books. Pure garbage.

They're basically selling printed copies of the Wikipedia entry.

It's legal and reinforces the old saw about fools and their money being
soon parted. It's also jackassery at its finest.
