HERO-1 Keypad Replacement

Here's a replacement for the HERO-1 keypad/display PCB that supports Cherry MX switches and optional backlighting.  To maintain the same height profile as the OEM board, the switches mount on a small daughtercard.  Custom keycaps from maxkeyboard.com.

I have a few boards available for cost of postage.  KiCAD project or keycap templates will be posted if requested.

Some other HERO PCBs have also been produced - details if requested. 

The HERO robot IS an 8-bit computer (on wheels) ;-)

Beautiful.  FYI Terry has developed a similar solution for the H8 and we had this on display at VCF:

 

 

The modern keys are SO much nicer to use. No debounce glitches!
