H-27 docs?

Slightly off-topic since the H-27 only worked with the H-11, but as far
as I know there is no Society for Sixteen Bit Heath Collectors :-)

I just obtained an H-27 chassis with drives and internal control board
(which has a Z80 and 1771 floppy controller on it BTW) but no docs.

Does anyone have a manual or other docs available for this beast?

I'd like to learn about the interface to the host and what the protocol
is over that channel... since the belief is that it is not the same
as the DEC RX-01/-02 even if the Heath QBUS host adapter was software
compatible to the OS, this channel was done differently.

Thanks,

Chris

Chris

several of us have H-11 systems in various states of functionality and
questions pop up here occasionally... especially since as you noted
there is no where else to go!

I have what I believe is a complete set of H-27 docs recently acquired
and unscanned as yet. I believe Mark also has a lot of H-11 docs but
I've no idea if they've been scanned..

Mark?... anyone? I can do some scanning work and get them to you if
no else has done it yet.

I have some H27 documents, and if I remember correctly, even the Data Service Manual, that was provided only to their stores and authorized dealers. This, along with the H9 documentation will go on my list of things to scan...  not sure when I'll be able to get to it though.

In that case, I'll tackle on the basic document set shortly (Operation,
Assembly, Illustrations and Schematics). That leaves just the Data
Service Manual for you if you have it.

Cool. Thanks guys. No rush as this unit needs a lot of TLC to bring
it back to something respectable. I think this will be my first color
match paint effort for Heath stuff as there are a lot of scratches and
scuffs to make disappear... so I can do all of that before I get serious
about the electrical interface.

The drives are also removed from it so they probably need attention too.

I don't have the H-11 host adapter for it either so depending on the
protocol discovered may or may not use it in that mode. It's a nice
(big) cabinet for dual 8" drives otherwise.

I took a look at the Service Data Manual, and unfortunately, it appears that it'll be hard to scan without destroying the binding. There is only about 50 pages of actual Heath generated text/diagrams, the rest is IC specs.
