For those who have been following the early action regarding Kee Hart’s new “H8 Mini”, I am happy to report that my modest contribution can now be shared more widely.

This link will take you to my fileshare webpage:

https://www.serpentwebsite.com/fileshare.htm

where down near the bottom and under a magenta colored headline, are two ZIP files that may be downloaded. One of the ZIPs includes the instructions, PDF and STL files allowing anyone making the kits now or later to produce the 3D printable keycaps and labels for them and how to obtain the recommended red filter material for the display, as well as the instructions for doing that. The other ZIP includes the instructions, STL & PDF files for 3D printing a case for the H8 Mini.

The caveat is that while the keycaps should be version-tolerant, the case design is tightly dialed into the exact dimensions of the Lee Hart’s ‘Rev A’ PCB. At this time, there is no equivalent 3D case design available for any PCB versions higher than ‘A’. My crystal ball cannot predict at this time what may happen in this regard in the future.

I am hoping that, at the very least, those people on this forum who have been assembling pre-production kits and assisting in firmware development might immediately find the above useful.

Ah, but this project is very much in the Heath "maker" tradition!  Heath's motto was "We won't let you fail". The whole point of this project is that you CAN make it yourself!

The H8 was built in the days when people cooperated and collaborated on their microcomputers. Most of the hardware and software came from individuals, not Heath. Everyone has different skill levels, so contribute what you can. We all benefit from sharing. :-)

Cool, then I'll join as a contributor and hope I can bring something useful to the table.
