Last we heard from George was a year and a half ago. I’ll forward to his email and see if he responds.

Hi Glenn, Norberto and all.

Yup still kicking, been super busy as president of the local ham club but do expect to get back to my H8.  I have boards to build still and would like to do that.

Glenn was it you that was working on the Slicer?  If so did you ever get anywhere?

BTW I have an H19 that would like a good home, was going to put it on Ebay or it's ilk but best to announce here first.
Just plain running out of room.

Cheers all,
George

Hi George, that was me. I never got a chance to work on it; it's
still sitting in a box in the museum's warehouse. I hope to get an
opportunity to dig it out and work on it at some point.

Ah thanks Dave, I was hoping someday when I'm retired I could get to
the Slicer...oh wait, I've been retired for 9 years, sigh. Well one of
these days.

Hey George,

Regarding the H19 looking for a new home... it may be helpful to let the group know your location.

What is the Slicer?

The Slicer is an 80186-based SBC from the mid-1980s. It's an
interesting system; I believe it was originally intended to run CP/M-86
but could run MS-DOS with an expansion board to provide the additional
hardware that MS-DOS expects.

I wonder what is the difference between this board and the board that Scott did for the H8 system.

I ran concurrent CP/M-86 on my Slicer, it was quite a nice system.

The guy that did a lot of the software for Slicer built a text based
window system which was cool as well.

I'm on Vancouver Island, about 50 km (that's about 30 miles for you mileage people) north of Victoria.

Well it isn't an H8 board, for one thing.
