Does anyone have software to extract files from a TD0 image? Apparently TD0 is from Teledisk. I have some image files in that format, that I'd like to see what is on them. I'm not sure where these files came from, but from there names, it sounds like they are related to Magnolia's 128K memory expansion.

Thanks,
  Mark

Hi Mark,

I used to have Teledisk set up on a machine about 15 years ago. I will
check to see if I still have a copy. If so, I will put it on one of my
machines and let you know. -- ken

Hi Mark,

Yes, I still have several versions of Teledisk v105 through v216. What
form are the file in so I can pick the right machine to do the work? Or
would it be better for me to send you the Teledisk files? -- ken

Hi Ken,

I have no idea what format they are in, besides having an TD0 extension. I did a dump of them, and it looks like there is no have fancy compression, so if we have problems, I may still be able to extract the text files, or fix the open-source extractor that I found, which is currently failing on these.  I'm attaching the files to this email (they are very small). Let me know if you have any luck, or if I should investigate the open source program some more.

Thanks,
  Mark

Hi Chris,

No, I didn't see that. I tried a few of the teledisk programs, but unfortunately, they only gave the option for 'disk to image', 'image to disk', and 'disk to disk'. There was no option to extract the files. But Dave also had notes describing the TD0 format. With that, I should be able to extend the GPL wteledisk program to extract files.

Thanks,
   Mark

Hi Mark,

Are you wanting to re-create the disks or just extract the data? Let me
know since it will significantly change how I go about it. -- ken

At a minimum, I'll like to get the data off. But if it's not too much extra effort, having copies of the disks will be even better.

Thanks,
  Mark

Hi Mark,

My original thinking was that you wanted reconstructed disks.

Ok, the next question is: Hard or soft sector and TPI?

Soft-sectored 48 tpi will work. It appears that at least the mag-128k.td0 file is that format.

Thanks,
  Mark

Hi Mark,

The teledisk files wrote SSDD Magnolia for Heath formatted disks. I can
read them with Multidsk on my Ampro, LB, machine. I tried sending the
files in three zips to your email and also via sebhc, but both were
returned. So, looks like I need a snail-mail address to send the disks.

Thanks to Ken's hard work, we now have access to the files on these disks. Ken was able to send the zip file directly to me. I've created new zip files without the .COM files, that was probably the reason that the original zip files were blocked by the mail server. I'll try to get the complete zip files up on my site, if anyone is interested. The attached files have the documentation and assembly files that was on those disks.

it's a bit unusual to see the BIN price like that... they usually take
a shot at an auction with a high start point first.. like the H8 in FL
that keeps showing up with a start of $1500... $150 is a fairly good
price.

It's for the Magnolia Microsystems 128k RAM expansion.
The mag-128.td0 contained Ramdisk software, documentation, and assembly language program for the RAM card. The zip file I included has the documentation and assembly language program that shows how to use bank-switching.
