Just some feedback on vendor speeds.  recently ordered parts from multiple vendors (Mouser, Pololu, Phoenix connectors, Digikey, Jameco and Tayda).  All the packages arrived quite quickly, except Tayda.  I had previously given Tayda good marks in a post I made here (their prices certainly are good).  But this time, I’m sorry to say, things are going quite slowly.  They have posted a USPS tracking number but the package is actually shipping from overseas (Thailand I believe?) and the tracking information doesn’t even start to show until the package gets to the US.  I placed the order on 5/25 and it’s still not even in the US postal system.

In this case the few bucks I saved don’t justify the delay.  lesson learned.

According to the news, their corner of the world is seeing a sharp increase in
Covid-19 cases. That is likely affecting all facets of life - shipping included.

You're getting good shipping times out of Mouser? Wow, I'm certainly
not. They've been my primary supplier for twenty years, I have a
commercial account with them and on average it's about $1K/mo there.
Still it takes 2-3 days to get an order into shipment. It has been like
this for the past three months and has impacted my business. And being
a small business, that directly impacts my ability to do things like buy
groceries.

DigiKey is usually my second choice, but they're rapidly becoming
first, despite the fact that their search system isn't as good as
Mouser's. They had delays of 1-2 days for a couple of weeks, but
quickly made it back to same-day shipment.

And then the "0 in stock" problems came. That's affecting everyone,
but Mouser seems to be hit harder than anyone else in that area.

I'm having to design with chips that I can GET rather than chips that
fit the technical requirements of the design. That's not the way
engineering is supposed to be done, and I am rather pissed. Make
America Great Again, indeed. *puke*

So just for closure the order from Tayda arrived today, 2 weeks + 1 day after I placed the order.  They apparently use someone in Colorado to do the US shipping of the package, which I believe is assembled in Thailand.

I still like them for run of the mill components and passive parts.  Just be sure to allow plenty of time for the order..

I too have ordered parts from Tayda (specifically ceramic resonators), and until this year, I had no problems with them. But early this year, their ebay pages started saying they were "on vacation". This went on for several months.

But then in late April, these messages went away. So I placed an order for resonators on April 30, and they arrived about2 week later.

You're right about "US shipping". Lots of vendors claim this. In fact, the seller ships a big box with multiple orders from somewhere overseas to a US address. The orders are separated, and shipped again from the US address. In the case of these parts from Tayday, they came from "Orange Connect".

Well, as far as shipping goes that’s “US enough” for me.  They (Tayda, whomever) are going to expedite that single-ship big-box and make sure that it doesn’t get hung up somewhere.  After that you’re at the usual mercies of USPS anyway.  Two thumbs way up compared to the usual small-packet shipping from east’ish Asia to the US, even when paying a formal shipping cost.  Small-packet shipping is like a lottery ticket without the big payoff … just the eventual (usually) arrival at the tender mercies of the USPS.
