*The Stage is Yours...*

Hello SEB readers:

VCFMW organizers are now accepting proposals for this year's VCFMW Talks

VCF Midwest is scheduled for September 13-14, 2025 at Schaumburg, IL (Convention
Center), Marriott Renaissance is the Main Hotel.

If you would like to give a Presentation at our Show this year, here's what you need to know:

*How to submit*: All proposals must be submitted through our online form

*Deadline*: July 31st, 2025. *Proposals submitted after July 31st will not 
be considered!*

*Questions*: The submission form has handy online help that should be able 
to answer all of your questions. But just in case it doesn’t, shoot
us an email <pre...@vcfmw.org?subject=3DVCFMW20%20Talks%20Question> and we’ll try to address them.

*What About Tables?*

We expect to open table registration in the *month of June*. A separate email will go out via the VCFMW e-mail list, and an announcement will be 
posted to our website, a few days before registration opens. The 
announcement will give the date and time the table registration form will open. 

Please be sure you and anyone you know who may be interested in tabling is signed up to the VCFMW mailing list.

Look Out for *Scammers*

We have heard from prospective tablers that they have been contacted directly (or after having followed a malicious posting on Facebook or another forum) by someone pressing them for payment before VCFMW tables sell out. *This is a scam! * There is *no way* to sign up for a table except through the official form that will be linked from vcfmw.org

One of the selection criteria is “on brand”, i.e. related to computer history in the Midwest, so Heathkit is a natural!

I do not believe a presentation on Heathkit has been made at VCF Midwest.

Surprising, considering the Heathkit was nearby (Benton Habor, MI) and was purchased by Zenith of Chicago.

The Zenith Computer division leveraged manufacturing facilities across Chicago area and Zenith’s Asian mfg.

The USA portion of CRT and Monitor mfg. was about 6 miles East of where I live.

The last HQ offices for Computer division were along Lake-Cook Road (north of VCFMW 2025 location).

Zenith's headquarters was in Schaumburg, where VCFMW is currently located.
