Dear Friends,
I hope you've been having a restful recuperative winter.

I'm writing to share info about these kids yoga classes I'm teaching, as a new session starts this Friday and a couple Sundays from now!

I'm reaching out to ask your help with getting the word out to your circles.

It would be so very helpful to me if you forwarded this email to any SF area parents you know, and/or share the event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/1813177948909294 or sign-up link: http://rockbandland.org/yoga

It's a dream of mine to be doing this; and at the same time it's been a bit challenging to spread the word. So thanks for any assistance.

For those of you who are looking for a class to attend yourselves, I'm subbing a luxurious gentle and restorative yoga in a couple Fridays, January 15th, 4:15-5:45 at Bernal Yoga. I love their space and this class! http://bernalyoga.com Would love to see you there.

Thanks and happy new year!
Jessie

KIDS YOGA AT ROCK BAND LAND!

Two new sessions of KIDS YOGA at ROCK BAND LAND are starting up very soon.

The Friday session starts this week, January 8th. The Sunday session starts January 17th.

As it's getting rainy, I know it's harder to get out of the house!!

Yoga can be a great way for your kids to transform some of that accumulated energy (into all sorts of creatures!).

Here are the logistics, and a description below that:

Fridays Ages 2-5
1/8 - 2/5
10:30-11:15
Series cost for 5-weeks: $75
Drop-in: $20

Sunday Ages 3-6
1/17-1/31
10:30-11:15
Series cost for 3-weeks: $50
Drop-in: $20

Location: Rock Band Land Headquarters: 3075 17th St. @ Folsom.

Sign up here: http://rockbandland.org/yoga

(Side note: You can check out the other cool classes that Rock Band Land offers while you're there. Their classes involve writing creative stories using the kids' collective ideas, and then they make up a rad rock song with the ideas, that the kids get to perform!! I really love what they're doing and am so happy to be collaborating with them.)

More about Kids Yoga:

These classes are a fun multidimensional intro to yoga for the little ones. We will strengthen our imaginations, learning simple animated poses, with the help of yoga games and silly songs. We will also go on great yoga adventures — becoming animals, vehicles, food, clouds, dragons, superheroes — you name it. We’ll bark in downward dog, hiss in cobra pose, and flutter our wings in butterfly. Class is interspersed with simple kid-friendly breathing suggestions that help to strengthen coordination and build body awareness.

Parents/caregivers welcome, especially for children who are not yet potty trained. There is a bathroom directly connected to the room where we meet. If you are joining your child/ren, please come ready to participate and play along!! (Kids will get distracted by grown-ups who are not playing yoga too. :) These classes will look very different from adult classes, so bring an open mind!

It's also totally fine to drop your kid/s off. Rainbow Grocery is 4 blocks away, and there are a couple cafes.

Class is 45 minutes, which includes a little time for transitioning into and out of the class.

Bring a mat if you have one.

Teaching bio:

Jessie has been teaching yoga in San Francisco since 2006. She has completed a variety of teacher training courses at the Yoga Loft, including Karma Kids Yoga Teacher Training in 2012. She also trained to become a restorative yoga teacher with Judith Hanson Lasater, and she regularly assists Britt Fohrman at Yoga Tree with gentle and restorative yoga workshops. Jessie enjoys sharing yoga with those across the age and ability spectrum, so that all can experience yoga’s profound invigorating and relaxing benefits.

Thank you!
Jessie
