Hi long-lost yogi friends,
I hope you're doing well and finding time to practice, wherever you may be.
I have a couple updates, including times when I'll actually be teaching!
Tomorrow/Friday 6/26, 7/3, and 7/24 I'm subbing Britt Forhman's gentle & restorative class at Bernal Yoga. 4:15-5:45pm. For those of you who haven't had a chance to experience this studio yet, I highly recommend taking a class here! I've really missed the openness and space that was the Yoga Loft, and Bernal Yoga is the first studio I've been to that reminded me of that feel. It's right off the 24 bus line as well, which might help in getting there. Anyway, I am happy to be getting back in the teaching groove again while Britt takes a summer break to the mountains and rivers. We'll be doing some gentle movement to warm up then will settle into the stillness that restorative brings. If you have requests, as always, please let me know. All are welcome.
http://bernalyoga.comAdditionally, I've taken a step into the world of kids yoga! My friend Indianna invited me to teach at her Waldorf summer camp with 5 year olds, and it's been a blast so far, learning a new way to teach yoga! I've been brushing up on all the weird animal poses and silly songs. I also went to Rock Band Land recently, a creativity school in the mission, mostly focusing on music, with a bit of art and dance and storytelling thrown in, and the founder Brian Gorman has welcomed me to teach yoga there too. So I intend to start some classes in the Fall! If you know kids, ages 2 and up, whose parents would be up for them playing yoga, please send 'em my way! I'll keep you posted when the class times are official. Also if you know of schools or other studios that might be open to kids yoga, I'd love to hear more ideas.
