Hi Chris,

Is Weed-FS a faithful implementation of Haystack?
If yes, did you purely rely on the published paper for various details ?
If no, what are you doing differently ? I am asking more from a internal perspective rather than API level

Not 100% exact implementation. Almost all changes after the initial version do not come from Haystack paper.

The Haystack paper detailed on the volume server. The first version of weed-fs volume server followed it closely. But later versions has more improvements on that, for example, support mime types, file names, modification date, etc.

The actual haystack paper includes also CDN, image cache server, etc. Those were not implemented.

And the volume replication design is weed-fs' own design.
