Regarding Proposition C:
I was a yes on, and now may abstain... It will likely lose; most people are voting against it. It is confusing, and I suggest reading up if you have interest.
Voting yes on C is a vote to have regulations on vaping, instead of the ban that will go in effect next year. I was pro C because we know bans don’t work, and people will get vape products regardless, illegally. Especially with the illness we are seeing with people vaping, I would rather people have access to regulated vape products, which seem at least slightly safer, than to get unknown substances on the illegal market. (Specifically the additives in illegal vape products can be worse for people’s lungs, from what I’ve read.)
Voting no on C is a vote for the vape ban. Juul initiated Prop C, which is another reason many people are voting against it. Juul has now dropped out of campaigning for it with “the vape” illness. Apparently the vape ban can be lifted once the FDAA regulates vaping, though I’m not sure when that would be.
A question I have, if anyone is clear on this: If Prop C went through, by what mechanism can the regulations be altered? If Prop C is voted down, how exactly can the ban be altered, beyond the FDAA regulations changing?
