The Sixth Extinction? Songs of Lament and Celebration

CONSPIRACY OF VENUS SEASON FINALE
at Fort Mason Center Chapel
1100 Bay Street in SF
2-3:30pm

Conspiracy of Venus presents: The 6th Extinction, songs of Sympathetic Resonance: Lamentation, Revolution and Renewal

Featuring Joyce Todd McBride's settings of Brecht, and arrangements of songs by Joni Mitchell, the Pixies, and others, performed by Conspiracy of Venus choral ensemble.

The 6th Extinction is the title of two important books, the first by Richard Leakey and Roger Lewin (1996), and the second by Elizabeth Kolbert (2015). Our performance will be a collage of readings by seminal authors and poets on the subject of climate change, evolutionary biology, and politics, woven through a selection of songs that resonate sympathetically.

This event is part of the San Francisco International Arts Festival!
