Hi everyone,

This email is an attempt to be in community, in tumultuous times. Love you all. Thanks for your updates too!

Today/Tonight Tuesday 3/24, for Lawrence Ferlinghetti's BDay (AKA Ferlinghetti Day!)
~ I'm singing with Conspiracy of Venus at the Palace of Fine Arts dome! Outside, FREE.
Poets will be interspersed with our songs. We'll be singing in a circle.
I would love to see you there!!!

I'll be singing to honor one of my best friends, who some of you know/met thru last year's UnRein performance - Sally Hahn Morris.
Sally passed away Sunday night/ Monday morning. I am honored and grateful I was able to be by her side for it, as well as her husband and sister and high school bestie.

My Feldenkrais teacher Carolyn Fleg passed away suddenly last month too, Wednesday February 18th. I hope to gather some rest offerings in the future to honor her teachings and legacy, and keep the work going. Please let me know if interested.

Divorce with my husband Jesse is officially going through today as well! We are in an OK place and have done a lot of work to be at this point.

It's been a deep time of love and grief, amidst everything going on in the world right now.
I'm grateful to have so much support. Thanks to everyone who's been showing up.
I would love to see you all at any of these events and exchange hugs.

I especially could use help spreading the word for my Kids Yoga classes in April!

My Mom is in town for it! Would love to see you there.

Hi everyone,

Tomorrow's the day!
Sunday 5/31!

Please join us at

We are raising money for United for Dignity Alliance (UFDA), supporting Palestinian-led humanitarian aid, medical care, and community development on the ground in Gaza.

A lot of love is going into this night.

This just in: one of my all-time favorite artists Sean Hayes will be playing a couple songs too!

The line-up is incredible with Magic in the Other ft. Ezra Lipp (of ALO), Madeline Tasquin, Handmade Moments (in town from New Orleans), Aviva La Fey, & special guests Vicki Randle, Rafa Bustamente of La Gente, Tarik "Excentrik" Kazaleh with Aaron Kierbel, Dellow, Joel Ludford, Andre Fylling, Anna Moss, and now Sean Hayes!

KVMR’s DJ Little Sunny will be spinning gospel records between sets and 6-7.

& Mat Weir of @weirdjournalism wrote about the night in the East Bay Express!

Doors 6, Show 7-11

Mixtape for Palestine 5:31- JVP.png

If you’d like to learn more about UFDA, Ezra just released an interview with Dr. Musallam Abukhalil, a physician from Gaza and the founder of UFDA, on his new podcast, The Thin Veil with Ezra Lipp.

There will also be opportunities at the event to learn more about supporting people in Gaza, and we’ll be donating proceeds from the sale of Nick Jenkins’ beautiful hand-designed poster prints as well.

Thank you again for being part of this. We encourage you to rest up, for what is sure to be an incredible evening of healing music, community, and solidarity.

with love,
Jessie (& Ezra)

2) Nonviolent Communication Offerings:
A big part of my activist work has been studying Nonviolent Communication (NVC).
As some of you know, I've gotten pretty deep in these waters, assisting my teacher Tuesday nights for the past year.
The NVC work is a driver and intention setter for the Mixtape for Palestine project as well.

My teacher Newt Bailey of Communication Dojo is offering a new workshop starting this Wednesday that I'll be attending for four weeks, on zoom. I'd love to see you there.
With two people close to me passing away this year, and with people I can't talk to who I'd like to (that thing some of us have experienced), I've found the Imaginal Conversations work to be extremely helpful for rearranging how I move thru the grief and still benefit from the wisdom of those relationships.

Here's the info!

I'll also be at Monday night class 7-9pm, experiencing Newt's weekly lessons as a practice, as often as I can, for those who are interested too.

From Newt:

I'm excited to announce a new Communication Dojo offering: Imaginal Conversations - 4-week ONLINE Program, starting on Wednesday June 10th, 2026.

This program explores a practice many of us already do unconsciously - having imagined conversations with people in our lives.

We replay old arguments. We rehearse future conversations. We imagine finally saying the thing we never said. We imagine the other person understanding us, apologizing, or responding differently.

Sometimes these inner conversations help us. Sometimes they leave us more reactive, ashamed, angry, or emotionally tangled.

In this new program we'll explore how to engage inner dialogue more consciously, with empathy, curiosity, compassion, and nervous system awareness.

Imaginal Conversation can support us when:

  • we're preparing for a difficult real-life conversation
  • we're trying to process conflict, grief, anger, fear, shame, attraction, or loneliness
  • we want to understand ourselves or another person more compassionately
  • we're inwardly speaking with someone who is not currently able or willing to talk with us in the way we'd like
  • we want a more conscious alternative to rumination, rehearsed arguments, blame, fantasy, or self-criticism

Also, Imaginal Conversation Practice is my #1 tool of Self-Connection - and, for me, Self-Connection is 90% of Nonviolent Communication!

This is a program I've been wanting to share for over a decade and it's finally here!

The whole-group portions of the sessions will be recorded, and participants will receive access to an online resource area with recordings, handouts, and other resources to support learning and integration.

"Newt's classes are engaging, interactive and packed with actionable tools and insights. I always get a ton out of the practical exercises which cement new learnings right during class time. The material is approachable and taught in bite-sized chunks; plus Newt actively tailors the course to what the class participants are most interested in. During the practice sessions there is even the chance to work on real issues." ~ Elise H., San Francisco
