The Sammamish River Trail will be closed starting this Friday, 06/13 at 10:00 PM until Tuesday, 06/17 at 05:00 AM. I suspect the closure is only where the trail goes under I-405, but the closure signs are from the intersection with the North Creek Trail (where it heads north to the Bothell UW Campus) to the gate back behind McLendon's Hardware. Roughly here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/5YvQUjRNxXeW4iZk9

This closure impacts a whopping 28 active permanent routes:

Permanent are point-to-point between controls, so feel free to continue riding these routes and "choose your own adventure" but keep this closure in mind when planning your day. I haven't found any official published detour, but the best (IMO) bet would be along E Riverside Drive and NE Woodinville Drive south of the Sammamish River.

Thanks for this, Keith.

Going from west to east, the detour Keith describes is:
  • On the Burke-Gilman go straight across the bridge after the tunnel by the golf course instead of turning downhill onto the SRT.

  • Go out to the road, Riverside Dr. Follow it continuing onto Woodinville Dr.

  • Turn left onto NE 175th St

  • Turn right onto 131st Ave NE

  • Turn right into Wilmot Gateway Park
Remarkably this detour is within a few meters of the length of the bypassed section of the SRT. You don't have to worry about not riding the full distance of any of these perms.

This is just an overnight closure every night, like they had been doing in March\April.
Their signage is just confusing, same as last time.

This should only effect really long rides like 400km or more. Who rides those? Oh yeah, right this is SIR. ;-)
