The front wheel on my Davidson is about done. It has many thousand miles on it and I thing the bearings are shot. Does anyone have a recomendation for someone to build a 700c wheel with a generator hub?

I understand that Schmidt is offering a ~$100 core replacement. You don't get your same hub back but you get an identical one. Corey Thompson knows the details.

For anyone that doesn't know, SIR member Corey Thompson doesn't just build beautiful bikes, he will build a great set of wheels for you based on your specs or his recommendations.  You might have to go to Olympia to pick them up but there are some nice rides you can do while you're there.  I will build wheels myself but I was too lazy to do so for the last ones I needed and Corey did a perfect job as always.

I can vouch for the quality of Corey Thompson wheels. Corey built these wheels with Pacenti Brevet rims and Shimano cassette rear and Schmidt generator front  hubs about three years ago.

They’re a great pair of wheels. I recommend Corey 100%.

I built my first wheelset (with a dynamo) this winter.  They turned out well - I basically just followed along with the Park Tool's youtube videos.

I'd be happy to loan my wheel truing stand (it's a generic one from Amazon), tensiometer, dishing gauge and spoke wrenches to anybody here if you're feeling motivated to build your own.
