Summer 600K This Weekend

The Summer 600K is coming up this weekend, starting Saturday 08/23 and finishing Sunday 08/24.

There will be an equipment check before the ride starts. Lights and reflective gear are required.

I was just asked a question about drop bags.

Drop bag service is available, just bring your drop bag to the start (Denny's). SIR volunteers will haul your drop bag to the overnight hotel in Centralia on Saturday, then they will haul your drop bag to the finish hotel in Auburn on Sunday. For riders planning to ride-through (and not sleep at the overnight) we will make every effort to get your drop bag to the finish before you do.

FYI for riders (and volunteers) driving to the 600K start from the Seattle area -- all southbound lanes of I-405 will be closed this weekend. Allow extra time for your drive.

🚧 WSDOT has announced TWO closures affecting southbound I-405 traffic this weekend, from late Friday (August 22) through early Monday (August 25).
⛔ Southbound I-405 will be closed from the Sunset Boulevard Northeast/Southport Drive (Exit 5) to SR 169/Maple Valley Highway (Exit 4)
⏰ 11:59 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday.
🔀 Detour routes: Sunset Boulevard Northeast or Logan Avenue North to North Third Street
⛔Southbound I-405 on- and off-ramps will be CLOSED at Northeast 30th Street (Exit 6)
⏰9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.
🔀 Detour routes: south on Lake Washington Blvd or Edmonds Avenue Northeast. NE 30th Street will remain open
Crews with WSDOT will be installing drainage crossings, paving, and implementing a traffic switch.
