Hi!
I'm visiting from out of town next week to ride the 400k on the 9th
I'll be staying in Seattle and won't have access to a car. If anyone has information on easy ways to get to and from Redmond - or if you are driving and have room for an extra person + bike - let me know!

Look up "redmond light rail stations". The 2 line has a stop at Marymoor Park, very close to the ride start. You would get on the 2 line at the Judkins Park or SODO stations, depending where you are staying in Seattle. Depending where you are staying you could take the 1 line to the SODO station.

The first train from Seattle arrived in Redmond at 6.27am, too late for the ride start.☹️

HI Noah,
Where in Seattle are you staying?  We live in Laurelhurst (near the 300k start; UW) and might be able to help here.

Oops. Might be an option for getting home.

I've used light rail between Redmond and Seattle a couple times. It's "basically" great!
But - the early start and late finish of a 400km may not mesh (based on Mick's note, they don't), and they're still a bit in "shakedown" phase.
I think yesterday passengers were being shuttled between two of the Bellevue stops by bus (they were talking about it on Saturday evening, last time I used it).  Not sure if they even had plans to accommodate bicycles with that detour.

Wonderful as using it has been, i'm not sure I'd want to be dependent on it to get to the start of a 400km before 5 am.

If you're staying in the U District, and in really good shape, you could ride to the start. (I rode Woodinville to the UW and then one day Seattle to Portland - once - you don't have to a total superstar to do it.

I rode out 520 trail Saturday with plan to shorten ride by "training" to Judkins Park. Closed line! I was offered a bus ride with bike carrier on front. I was even told I didn't need to remove my front bag. (I noodled my way home on my own).

Piggybacking on this thread - for the 400K, I booked a room with two beds at Redmond Inn on the night of 8th. If anyone wants to share the room, please let me know.
