Bike trail in Yakima DT

We're heading to Yakima for a few days and I saw that there is a trail along by the river.  Has anyone ridden it and if so, what's it like?

The paved trail is nice. No idea about the unpaved southern portion.

The Yakima River Canyon and Wenas Valley perm is a great ride and/or drive.
