You’re going to like this: Just when it seems the Monthly populaire is running out of gas, someone steps up. The June edition comes to you wrapped in a warm, fleece blanket of irony. Though a populaire is only 100 kilometers, anyone, even a legendary rando mileage monster can ride it, …. or sponsor it. Join your host, Vincent Muoneke on Sunday June 17th for a ride which starts and ends at Chez Muoneke.
You will enjoy blue views of Redondo and Poverty bay, then south through the Green valley to Flaming Geyser. Climb to a scenic and spectacular view of Mt Rainier, make a quick stop at Black Diamond Bakery, a run back down the Green River valley, a dash through Auburn, then back to Vinnie’s lair at Redondo for the finish and a little tofu (or meat of choice) on the Barbi. Yes, a post ride barbeque will chase the cramps away.
Details will be forthcoming on the club website, but for now, all you need to know is block out Sunday June 17th, on your calendar. A good ride, a good meal, and good fellowship, what else can you ask?
August Monthly Populaire is spoken for, July though is another matter. If Vinnie can do it, why can’t you? Send me a note and we’ll get your name up on the wall of fame.
