Hey all,

Just curious if the status link based on rider’s frame numbers is accurate.  A couple of strong SIR riders are listed as abandon.  Does anyone know?

Thanks much,

I was checking on this and Ian Shopland is listed as an Abandon but am pretty sure he finished with time to spare.  Anyone help out on this?

Some of in Illinois are wondering the same thing. Two strong riders from Naperville were reported as abandoning. Now we don't know if that is true or not. As another data point, Jason Karp* is listed as abandon but there is a Facebook photo of him finishing.
Perhaps there was a malfunction of the timing chips? I heard there were some bad storms.
Overall the lack of stories and information seems kind of surprising.

Thanks,
Eric Peterson
Napeville, IL

*Jason Karp is the Montana RBA, I met him on the September 400K in 2010 that started at midnight.

I was watching Ken Carter and Ian Shopland of the Seattle gang.  I have confirmation of Ian completing the ride, but I don’t know about Ken.

Thanks much in advance.

Ian definitely did not abandon. I  had the great good fortune to see him and ride with him many times across the final 400 miles.

Some recording devices at some controls didn't seem to work, and I think some data input may have been done by hand.

Ron Himschoot and Joe Llona seem to have same issue, but I'm fairly confident that they finished.

I saw RonH at the finish with Deirdre. He finished.

Rumors of my demise are greatly exagerated.

I spoke with Ken at Ludeac shortly after he abandoned. He had a bad saddle sore.

I finished in about 87 hours. I heard the machine beep as I went
through the chute and they stamped and accepted my card.

Do any of you past finishers know what the process and timeframe is for ACP posting final results?  Do they send a certificate or something?

Thanks,

Chris

Hello Chris

As far I know, ACP is now working to homologate the brevets and to build  the final results. But this must be done once some problems or litiges has been solved. This may take some time and ACP person are volunteers, so they are they job besides!

If you know your time and if there is no problem, keep cool and you will receive your medal at the end of this year or next year

I am going to train to prepare PBP 2015 !

Best regards

The ACP will probably finish checking the cards in the next few weeks and then will have preliminary results online. Check http://www.paris-brest-paris.org/pbp2011/index2.php?lang=en&cat=randonnee&page=resultats for results when available.

Based on 2007, you'll probably get final homologation of your result and receive your brevet card and medal in the mail early next year.

I'm really looking forward to the card for this one with all the cool
stamps. It will be cherished souvenier for sure.

Jeff,

I couldn't agree more. It was hard to give it up! I especially liked how the stamps for each town were different from each other.

FYI, for future reference, it is permitted to take a picture of your
brevet card at the final control, with the finish stamp on it. I did
it, and I have the picture to comfort me while I while away the next 6
months waiting for the actual card to come back with a trinket. The
volunteer who stamped my card at the finish made a fairly big deal
about the fact that taking a photograph of the completed card is
expressly permitted.

All three (Himschoot, Llona, and Shopland) now show as finishers.
