To my knowledge, this is the only trail they close when they mow it.
Some sections of the trail have unpleasant, perhaps dangerous, alternative routes (which, incidentally, the crews don’t identify).
It’s mildly inconvenient if you are doing a permanent, but what if you are using it for transportation?
Every time I’ve encountered them, I’ve noted there are people at both ends of the closure, and I don’t understand why they can’t pause for a few seconds while cyclists or pedestrians pass the “danger zone,” (where the mower might be shooting out debris) and I wonder if they’d bow to pressure from the community to alter their methods if we spoke up in unison.
