I hope many of you had a chance to enjoy Green Festival! I've attached a flyer we passed out and a few photos of the event.
SCALLOPS had a booth. We met people from many great organizations at their tables and at the GreenFest talks. Thank you to those SCALLOPS people who helped us reach out to the public at our booth! We had skills-based displays with solar ovens, seed sprouting, climate letters, West Seattle Tool Library, Wallingford Sustainability Planning, and much much more!
Yesterday, Seattle City Council was briefed on becoming carbon neutral by 2050.
Here is a summary of that briefing. You can see that it is focused on land use and transportation, of great interest sustainable neighborhoods. We are especially interested in how these actions will lead to dense, resilient, economically viable local neighborhoods.
