Looks like Summer is just about gone, but before it is lets have one more Mesh in the Park Meetup. Per last meetup, we picked the time & date as this Sunday 9/9 at 3pm, and I went ahead & did a bit of research and it looks like Woodland Park Zoo (the park part, not the Zoo itself) has a whole mess of outlets that we could use and is large enough to really simulate a good network.

I'll go & drop by and take some pictures of potential node sites & test that the outlets work, and update this post. Overall, lets preconfigure as many links as possible, and get organized here, on the mailing lists & on IRC.

Note: I messed up the date as 9/8 when it was supposed to be this sunday, sorry about that!

Hey, just to update everyone we'll be meeting here, its the first Picnic Hut when you drive the loop that goes through this part of the park. While there are Outlets, they have been disabled by Seattle Parks & Recreation & would cost a fair bit to get re-enabled for the time we'd be there. Thankfully, there is ample parking throughout the loop & we should be able to use inverters & extension cables fairly easily.

Overall, there are 4 Picnic Huts as shown by this (probably inaccurate) map. I figure we'll set up a link between hut 2 & hut 3 at the very least, and in addition test out Byzantium Linux & Cjdns mac address based peering.

If your planning on coming, please comment either here or on Reddit, and if you have radios, laptops, inverters, cars or anything that can be useful, please bring it!

I'll be there ~3 with 2 linksys routers (owrt compatible, not sure what they're on now), some Ethernet cable, a car, an extension cable, and a clear modem.

I can make it by 4.
Bringing a power inverter, extension cord, power strip, a car, and two working nodestations, and a clear modem.

Accidentally posted this as a new topic. Apparently "reply by email" in Google Groups doesn't understand threaded discussions. You can delete that one.

If anyone is still not here and planning on showing up come over by shelter #3 - we're a bit behind it, look for a bunch of neckbeards with a big orange cord coming out of a bright yellow Ford Focus
