Hey Tom, do you want to organize a Seattle Meshnet meetup?

I think this would be a great idea. The Seattle area seems to make generous use of meetup.com, and we could get a lot of exposure by having a group page there.

Make a group page for us there then if you think it'd help. Also, I don't recognize your email, were you one of the new members at the last meeting on friday of last week? If you haven't been to a meeting yet, we are going to have our next one on the 27th at 7pm over at ALTSpace, add yourself to the node map here too: https://seattlemeshnet-nodeshot.appspot.com/

Yes, I was one of the new members that showed up last Friday. I would make a meetup page but I'm very new to this project and can't guarantee that I'll be around much to maintain and organize the site.

Meetup is a good site but I don't know if we are ready for that sort of thing yet. We don't have highly organized events going yet which is what the site is best for. Also, it costs between $144 and $288 per year (depending on how much you want to pre-pay) and I don't know if anyone will want to front that cost at this point. Once we are a little more mature of an organization this could be a useful option.
