I just got delivery of the lot of nanostation loco m2's
Just want to let everyone know that we may want to avoid loco's where possible. The loco units have only one ethernet port, so the host computer will need a physical interface for each connected device.
I've not seen any other lots loco or otherwise, so I suppose it's a moot point.

The locos will probably be useful for the "last connection" which could hang off of a nanostations second port.
That said, I am hoping that for at least 80% (80/20 rule might not be quite appropriate but it is a good baseline) of our nodes will not require more than one Ethernet connection to the hosting lan.
Being able to hang the hosting houses internet connection on one port of the nanostation and the other port connected to the wan port of the users existing wifi router seems that it would provide the most transparency for setup. Mostly because the install would be a constant process (theoretically at least - we know how users like to make things difficult without even trying).
I think it might be a good idea to draw up some architecture drawings to represent our possible install scenarios. Will definitely make the process of training installers easier as well as vetting possible nodes.
Just some thoughts. I think it might be good to start discussing, or at least documenting the proposed architecture of our mesh. Would provide a great place to house our various goals and ideas. I will admit that I haven't perused the wiki in a minute, but do we have anything like that started I could add my thoughts to? Im happy to start new pages but dont want to invoke split brain syndrome.
Cheers from NYC! :)
