Folks:

We are a team of students at the UW Software Product Management Certification class currently in its 2nd quarter.

Our team project is to come-up with a software product for MakerBot.

We therefore are looking for "3D Printer Owners" and "3D Modellers" in the Seattle are for some in-person interviews that will help us define/refine our product.

This should be about an hour long casual interview trying to understands the needs the likes and dislikes of the customers pertaining to 3d printing. We will take a picture too.

Please reply back to me you are willing to participate, we will really appreciate the help.

Regards,
Pawan.

Hiya! I'd be interested in helping. I actually work more on the modeling side--I'm a 3d animator who has printed things (including inventions of mine own) with professional contacts' makerbots, and sometimes do the leg work for Makerbot afficionados with the ideas and equipment, but not the 3D know-how. I also run the Seattle Blender User Group, which teaches Blender, the free/open source 3D software suite. So if you want to model without a $3K Maya license, I can give you some chops! Next meeting's February 1st! http://www.meetup.com/Blender/Seattle-WA/1087362/

Here's a pic of a phone case I designed and 3D printed. As a phone addict I was getting insane carpal tunnel syndrome from bearing all the weight on my pinky. Putting this strap let me put the phone's weight on stronger fingers and made my hands feel waaaay better, and the canvas lets you rotate/flip it real easy. Bonus: reading in the bath or in bed is much nicer as well.

Let me know if I can help!

Hi Pawan,
I am a 3D modeler/ printing enthusiast in the Seattle area, as well as a moderator over at www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting . I do own a 3D printer, A Fab@Home Model 2, although currently it has a motor out for repair, and i am in the process of gutting it to build a self-designed reprap-style printer. I have been involved in the 3D printing community (online) for over a year now, although i have been doing CAD/3D modeling for the better part of the last ~13 years. I would be more than willing to give you guys a hand with whatever this project is of yours. Feel free to email me or reply here! just give me enough fore-warning to shave before the picture, haha.
